Unique Monograms combining multiple styles.
Monogram Styles Used:
This is another mix-and-match project, combining two monogram sets.
We began by choosing one of the letters from Perennial Monogram Set 3 XL. In our embroidery software program we eliminated the letter in the center, then rotated the border counter-clockwise so that the oval shape runs horizontally. The rotation wasn't a standard 90 degrees. Utilizing the freehand option we got the layout that we wanted with a few adjustments.
The open center in this orientation can accommodate a three-letter monogram layout. Something with a slant and some curves seemed appropriate, so letters from Arabesque Monogram Set 4 were chosen.
The sizes needed a bit of tweaking. The border was enlarged approx. 25%. The letters were reduced approx. 25%. A bit of freehand adjustments of the elements completed the project. We chose slightly different light thread colors for the different elements to add a bit of extra interest.
The overall size is 5 3/8" (136mm) tall by 8 1/4" (209mm) wide.
How we made these monograms
Embroidery software programs make it easy to delete elements, copy and paste elements from other designs, resize different aspects, and merge elements together into one new design. Each program is a bit different in how the Edit functions are managed. Once you have learned to use yours, creating new monograms from other monogram parts is creative and fun. Experiment with different arrangements and colors.
