Monogram CombinationsUnique Monograms combining multiple styles. Monogram Styles Used:Monogram: IJG This monogram is commemoration of the attempt to blend two different cultural references that were stylish in the 1950s-1960s - Polynesian (sometimes referred to as "Tiki" culture). This concept was originated in the restaurant industry in California in the 1930s, and was hugely popular throughout the US by the 1950s: flaming torches, glowing lanterns, rattan furniture, and exotic rum punches. We started with the letter G from our Rustic Monogram Set 3 - which has a subtle reference to the Tiki look, then kicked up the monogram by adding flanking initials I and J from our Silk Lantern Monogram Set. The overall size is 3 5/8" (88mm) tall by 5 7/8" (148 mm) wide. How we made these monogramsEmbroidery software programs make it easy to delete elements, copy and paste elements from other designs, resize different aspects, and merge elements together into one new design. Each program is a bit different in how the Edit functions are managed. Once you have learned to use yours, creating new monograms from other monogram parts is creative and fun. Experiment with different arrangements and colors. |
