Monogram Styles Used:

Monogram: IT

Aside from being distinctive parts of our names, letters also are just varied shapes. It can be interesting to experiment with using them with that in mind.

In this example, we started with several copies of the letter T from Moderne Monogram Set 12 - which has a straight-ish stem and a curving top element. Spreading the copies around in a clockwise circle produced something that resembled a stylized flower. To provide more "spokes" we added multiple copies of the letter I from Moderne Monogram Set 5. The result isn't mathematically perfect, but then neither is a flower.

If your initials happen to be IT, or TI - so much the better.

The overall size is 8 1/2" (216mm) tall by 8 5/8" (218mm) wide

How we made these monograms

Embroidery software programs make it easy to delete elements, copy and paste elements from other designs, resize different aspects, and merge elements together into one new design. Each program is a bit different in how the Edit functions are managed. Once you have learned to use yours, creating new monograms from other monogram parts is creative and fun. Experiment with different arrangements and colors.
