Unique Monograms combining multiple styles.
Monogram Styles Used:
The starting point for this single letter monogram is the letter K from the Circle Monogram Set 7.
To extend the circular concept, we added one of the designs from our Monogram Flourishes Set 1 - the 1936 design, which has a circular satin stitch border with manual seed stitch fills inside chevron-shaped satin stitch comb accents at the top and bottom.
A bit of tweaking was necessary in our embroidery software program: the letter and it's flanking accents were a bit too large, so we reduced the design size of those elements. The flourish accent is more rounded than the design inside it, so we squeezed the interior design a little until it had the same visual shape. It also seemed that something else was necessary to complete the monogram so we borrowed the open circle accent from one of the letters in the Art Deco Monogram Set 8 and added copies to the left and right.
Subdued light colors surround a slightly darker and more yellow letter K.
The overall size is 4 3/4" (120 mm) tall by 4 3/4" (120 mm) wide.
How we made these monograms
Embroidery software programs make it easy to delete elements, copy and paste elements from other designs, resize different aspects, and merge elements together into one new design. Each program is a bit different in how the Edit functions are managed. Once you have learned to use yours, creating new monograms from other monogram parts is creative and fun. Experiment with different arrangements and colors.
