Unique Monograms combining multiple styles.
Monogram Styles Used:
We have created quite a few frames for monograms using designs for the letter I. Also, many of our Combinations for this feature have combined different styles, sometimes contrasting in design details.
For this single initial monogram we wanted to create something where all of the parts came from the same style. Beginning with the larger letter I from Gothic Monogram Set 16, we created a copy and rotated the copy 180 degrees, moving it around a bit so that the two versions "snuggle up" to each other. From there we made three copies of that combination and positioned them so that the four elements created a square frame. Next, we rotated the square frame so that it became a diamond.
Inside the frame we placed the smaller letter S from the same style. In order to simplify the result a bit visually, we used one thread color for all parts of the frame, and emphasized the center initial by doing it in three colors.
The overall size is 6 1/4" (159mm) tall by 6 1/4"(159mm) wide.
How we made these monograms
Embroidery software programs make it easy to delete elements, copy and paste elements from other designs, resize different aspects, and merge elements together into one new design. Each program is a bit different in how the Edit functions are managed. Once you have learned to use yours, creating new monograms from other monogram parts is creative and fun. Experiment with different arrangements and colors.
