Monogram Combinations

Unique Monograms combining multiple styles.

Monogram Styles Used:

Monogram: ETM

The larger initial M, from our Medieval Monogram Set 2 is the principal design element, and the last initial.

This style has a very interesting manual seed stitch fill, which does a good job of simulating a hand-embroidered seed stitch. The letters from this style have an old-world quality - perfect for a history buff, but they also have a very playful aspect - the letters have the characteristics of animated cartoon characters.

To create this three-letter monogram we took advantage of the symmetrical aspects of the initial M, and added the first initial E and the middle initial T. Both letters are from our Woolworth Monogram Set, and are nestled into the spaces under the arches of the M. The Woolworth letters have little protruding "ears" which comfortably blend the styles together.

The red thread color offsets the tan and grey-blue thread colors of the main initial.

The overall size of this monogram is 2 3/4" (70mm) tall by 3 5/8" (92mm) wide.

How we made these monograms

Embroidery software programs make it easy to delete elements, copy and paste elements from other designs, resize different aspects, and merge elements together into one new design. Each program is a bit different in how the Edit functions are managed. Once you have learned to use yours, creating new monograms from other monogram parts is creative and fun. Experiment with different arrangements and colors.
