Monogram CombinationsUnique Monograms combining multiple styles. Monogram Styles Used:Monogram: R The letter I in many of our monogram sets can be considered almost an abstract element. For this monogram we started by making 4 copies of the larger I from Arts & Crafts Monogram Set 9, then rotated each one individually to create a square. From there we rotated the whole combination so that the result is more like a diamond. Since the letter has stems, leaves, and a small circle embellishment (an abstract "flower"?) the result is more botanical than strictly geometric. Once this shape was established the next step was to choose the smaller size of the letter R from the same monogram set. Eliminating the leaf and circle elements the last step was to resize the overall height of the letter so that it could nestle comfortably in the central open space. All color changes were eliminated for a classic tone-on-tone look, done in a pale green thread. The overall size is 5 1/2"(140mm) tall by 5 1/2"(140mm) wide. How we made these monogramsEmbroidery software programs make it easy to delete elements, copy and paste elements from other designs, resize different aspects, and merge elements together into one new design. Each program is a bit different in how the Edit functions are managed. Once you have learned to use yours, creating new monograms from other monogram parts is creative and fun. Experiment with different arrangements and colors. |
