Monogram CombinationsUnique Monograms combining multiple styles. Monogram Styles Used:Monogram: E This is a simple singe-initial monogram pairing two elements that are stylistically different but merge well together. We started with the surrounding design, from Monogram Flourishes 1. We chose the design called Year:1930 - an oval that flares out a bit with open lattice elements, and two areas filled with manual seed stitches. Since we wanted to add a letter inside that was more vertical the surround design was rotated 90 degrees. Inside it we placed the letter E from the Medieval Monogram Set 4. It has oval accent shapes that go well with the oval shape of the surround, and the combination has a nice "old world" look. We chose the larger of the two letter sizes, then reduced the letter slightly so that it fits snugly into the opening. The overall size is 5 1/2"(139mm) tall by 4 3/4"(121mm) wide How we made these monogramsEmbroidery software programs make it easy to delete elements, copy and paste elements from other designs, resize different aspects, and merge elements together into one new design. Each program is a bit different in how the Edit functions are managed. Once you have learned to use yours, creating new monograms from other monogram parts is creative and fun. Experiment with different arrangements and colors. |
