Monogram CombinationsUnique Monograms combining multiple styles. Monogram Styles Used:Monogram: BO For this simple monogram, to be used on linens and napkins, we began with the lucky coincidence that the last name initial is an O. Such a well-balanced and often symmetrical letter opens lots of possibilities. We chose the O from the Avant Garde Monogram Set 2 - one of our often overlooked styles. The letter is carefully crafted as a circle composed of an array of roses, digitized from a combination of small tatami fills and thin satin stitch curls. Just about anything might go with this, but for the first initial B we chose the Brushwork Monogram Set 3, which has a simple straightforward look and is a nicely raised satin stitch. The letter needed to be reduced a bit in size to fit comfortably inside the O. We chose an off-white thread color for the surrounding letter to help emphasize the letter B. If there hadn't been an actual connection to the letter O this would have been just as appropriate if the outer design were just a border. The overall size is 3 1/4" (83mm) tall by 3 1/4" (83mm) wide. How we made these monogramsEmbroidery software programs make it easy to delete elements, copy and paste elements from other designs, resize different aspects, and merge elements together into one new design. Each program is a bit different in how the Edit functions are managed. Once you have learned to use yours, creating new monograms from other monogram parts is creative and fun. Experiment with different arrangements and colors. |
