It Started With Eve - 1941Movie: It Started With Eve - 1941 Director: Henry Koster Synopsis: Jonathan Reynolds (Charles Laughton), a very wealthy man, is apparently near death. His son and heir - Jonathan 'Johnny' Reynolds Jr. (Robert Cummings) wants to make his father's final days as pleasant as possible, and tries to grant his last wish - to meet johnny's new fiancée. The real fiance, snobby Gloria Pennington (Margaret Tallichet) isn't available, so he hires hat check girl Anne Terry (Deanna Durbin) to fill in. The plot thickens when the father gets better, and is very taken with Anne. Scene: Anne decides to move a grand piano to the center of the grand hall in the family mansion so Johnny's ailing father can hear her sing and play something lively. To everyone's surprise it gets him up and out of bed. Monogram: Jonathan Reynolds wears a nightshirt with an elaborate JR monogram - with embellishments - on the pocket.
