Night and Day - 1946
Director: Michael Curtiz Synopsis: The fictionalized biography of Cole Porter (Cary Grant), from his days at Yale in 1914 through his Broadway success in the 1940s. Scene: Rehearsals are underway in Philadelphia for a new musical comedy - "Leave It To Me" - which will open in 1938. Longtime friend and showgirl Gracie Harris (Jane Wyman) is part of the production. When offered a lead song, she decines, and takes the opportunity to introduce Cole to an unknown chorus member - Mary Martin (playing herself).
