Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights - 2004Movie: Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights - 2004 Director: Guy Ferland Synopsis: In 1958, Katey Miller (Romola Garai ) moves to Havana, where here father Bert (John Slattery) - a Ford executive - has been transferred. Katey is a senior, a star student in Literature, and plans to attend Radcliffe College after graduation. Her younder sister Susie (Mika Boorem) is excited about the move, but proper Katey isn't. Once they have arrived, Katey is inspired by a glimpse of some impromptu street dancing, and also inspired by Javier Súarez (Diego Luna) one of the dancers and a waiter at the hotel where the Ford ex-pats are living. The movie, and their relationship, is set against the backdrop of the Castro revolution. A "re-imagining" of the blockbuster 1987 "Dirty Dancing". Scene: Katey and the other ex-pat high school kids attend the same school. Always a bit too bookish and prone to studying, Katey misses a ride back to the hotel - and has to walk.
