Potter Synopsis: Jim Blandings (Cary Grant) lives in a small Manhattan apartment with his wife Muriel (Myrna Loy) and two teenage daughters. He has a good job with an ad agency, and decides to buy an old house in the Connecticut countryside after seeing an ad in the paper. Unfortunately, the house turns out to be more than a "fixer-upper" - Mr. Blandings has no experience with houses, or fixing them. He is advised by engineers to tear it down and build his "dream house". Scene: Morning in the Blandings household - four people, one bathroom. Monogram: Wearing a monogrammed robe with this initials (JB) on the pocket, Mr and Mrs. Blandings try to dodge eachother while getting dressed in the morning.
