Unique Monograms combining multiple styles.
Monogram Styles Used:
For this single initial monogram we began by thinking about a design that could function as a container for the letter.
We began with one of the letters from Romanesque Monogram Set 9, deleting the letter to concentrate only on the vine and leaf portion of the design. The small open circle at the bottom seemed useful also, so we made a copy of these two elements as a group, then flipped the copy over in our software, placing it above the original version.
Now we had a tall, graceful, stylized botanical shape with room for a tall skinny letter. Since there is a semi-circle vine detail at the top and bottom something with a similar curvy quality seemed appropriate.
Merging in a letter - A - from Moderne 5 XL completed the project. The letter fit perfectly in the open space available.
The overall size is 8 1/2"(216mm) tall by 3 1/4"(83mm) wide.
How we made these monograms
Embroidery software programs make it easy to delete elements, copy and paste elements from other designs, resize different aspects, and merge elements together into one new design. Each program is a bit different in how the Edit functions are managed. Once you have learned to use yours, creating new monograms from other monogram parts is creative and fun. Experiment with different arrangements and colors.
